I wanted a robotic project that he had to actually assemble himslef, this was a good project for him, my only dissapointment was that it doesn't work well with the optional computer interface card because it does not provide the position feedback that the computer needs to properly position the robotic arm to a desired position, otherwise it is a good starter project as my grandson is goint to take a robotics class this coming semester in school

It would be better if they called this the OWI Robotic Arm Technical Model Kit, this is not a robotic arm that comes partially or fully assembled and that you can have up and running in a few minutes, and there are several screws that are similar to each other, many of the screws self thread down into the plastic pieces, the instructions are decent but not superior for a robotic assembly that has numerous steps, for most kids

This robotic arm is pain-in-the-butt to build, molded plastic parts are mostly still left connected to each other so disconnecting them is fiddly and leaves sharp points on components, instructions are good enough but you must be really careful to follow them to the letter and picture otherwise you might end up stuck at the later steps

I am sooo popular for buying this for my son for Christmas, right now he is using a remote control he assembled himself to control a real robotic arm as it picks up cheerios and puts them in my son's mouth, the range of motion and `` dexterity'' of this robot are impressive

Grandson read and put to memory the how-to instructions and started the project, the only thing Grandma had to supply was patience with advising how to properly apply self-tapping screws, the Robotic Arm Edge kit is very well engineered

The directions are good and the arm works great, the education level of robotics for this product is basic but still good for understanding all that needs to go into building a full robotic product

It wasn't so hard that it put him off of the project, but is a great project to see how the connections work together, now he is working on attaching the completed robotic arm to a separate R/C truck

This robotic arm is pretty cool and fairly easy to put together, the only thing I find wrong with this prduct is the software to program the robotic arm, other than that its a great kids toy

I helped her assemble the robotic arm and was very impressed with the detail and accuracy of the diecast plastic parts, we had several hours of quality time together
